Summary:

The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing telephone technical
support to external clients of Burstek. A TSE must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and communicate with and support Burstek customers. TSE must be able to communicate technical information to non-technical clients effectively. Additionally, the TSE will also be responsible for providing internal customer service and support to other staff within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Telephone technical support for Burstek customers as well as internal support as needed
  • Troubleshoot a support issue until a resolution is achieved
  • Take ownership of contacts
  • Check and respond to Burstek email support issues
  • Work on technical projects when assigned
  • Provide internal support for staff members
  • Provide after hours support for all Burstek customers and internal staff
  • Continuing education (Pursuit of Microsoft Certification Tests)

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills, ability to prioritize issues in solving a problem
  • Solid knowledge of Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, ISA 2000, ISA 2004, and ISA 2006
  • TCP/IP networking troubleshooting skills
  • LAN and WAN trouble shooting experience
  • 3-5 years related experience working with Workstations, and Servers
  • 3-5 years customer service experience
