If bt-LogAnalyzer 6 and bt-WebFilter are installed on the same server, you must uninstall bt-LogAnalyzer prior to uninstalling bt-WebFilter. Following are the step-by-step instructions:

  1. Export WebFilter settings for backup

Note Note: Add the Export location to your primary backup sets for whatever solution you are using.

  2. Remove unnecessary LogAnalyzer 6 reports prior to exporting settings

  3. Export LogAnalyzer Settings

Modifying the WebFilter Registry Settings Stored in the Exported Files

  1. Locate the WebFilter.reg file in your exported settings folder

  2. Right-click on the file and select Open With > Notepad

  3. Once the file opens in notepad, locate the item labeled CurrentServer and change the value to the new server’s name

  4. If you are installing on a 64-bit server, please change the Program Files directories to Program Files (x86)

  5. Save and then close the file

  6. Continue on to the instructions below

Importing the Settings to the New Server

  1. On the new server machine, launch the bt-WebFilter console

  2. Right-click on bt-WebFilter and select All Tasks > Settings Import

  3. Select the location where you previously saved your exported data. (Copy the exported folder to the new server machine before importing the settings.)

  4. Follow the on screen prompts to complete the import process

Note Note: Please note the following before importing the settings onto the new, 64-bit server:

  • The ‘Program Files’ location is different. Any references to this directory in the exported settings’ registry file must be updated with the ‘Program Files (x86)’ directory
  • The ‘CurrentServer’ field has to be changed to reflect the new server name when moving from one server to another regardless of architecture
