Moving bt-LogAnalyzer SETM Databases between SQL Servers.

bt-LogAnalyzer stores its information in three individual databases. These are named during the installation process but default to the following:

  • LAEE_Data
  • LAEE_Reports
  • LAEE_Settings

Note Note: If you are unsure of the Database location, you can view additional DB configuration information by opening the LAEEConnectionStrings.config file in any text editor. The file is located in the Burst Technology\bt-LogAnalyzer 7\Services and Web Interface directories.

Pre-Requisites:

The following items must be addressed prior to moving the bt-LogAnalyzer DB’s.

  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Security Method used (Integrated or SQL)
  • DBO permissions for the bt-LogAnalyzer Service accounts
  • Permissions for bt-LogAnalyzer server to communicate with SQL server
  • Permissions for ISA server to communicate with SQL Server (If using MSDE or SQL logging)
  • Ensure no current actions are taking place (Data Loading, Categorization, Report Generation, Etc)

Moving the Databases:

To move the bt-LogAnalyzer SETM databases perform the following steps:

Note Note: The method used in this section to move the LogAnalyzer Databases is via a Backup/Restore operation which is the preferred method. For more information on Detaching and Attaching Databases, please see the Microsoft MSDN on this topic.
